Alexander Gustafsson cut in training, fight may be cancelled

alexander gustafsson picture

Swedish media reported that Alexander Gustafsson suffered a cut in training and he will be unable to compete against Gegard Mousasi on April 6, 2013.

Swedish media outlet SVT today reported that Gustafsson suffered a significant cut in training and that he will be unable to compete against Gegard Mousasi on April 6, 2013 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

No official confirmation has come from the UFC or Gustafsson himself for now. Let’s hope that Gustafsson’s cut can quickly heal and that he will not be forced from the card. If he is indeed injured that could mess up the upcoming card. More news about Gustafsson will be available on MMA Europe.

UPDATE!
MMANytt confirmed the injury with Gus's camp:

According to a trusted source of MMANytt the news of Gustafsson's injury is true. Now it comes down to how deep the cut over the eye is and whether SMMAF are going to license him to fight.

MMANytt recently confirmed this with the Swedish MMA Association who explain that it will take a number of weeks before the injury heals up, and that Gustafsson with 99% certainty won't be medically approved in the medical examination which is planned to go down on Friday.

SMMAF spokeperson Gorge Sallfeldt to MMANytt:

This SMMAF doctor has seen the injury in person, while another two doctors say the same thing after having examined pictures of the injury. Our doctors have looked at this injury, and it's very hard to imagine it will be medically approved by Friday.

Machida drinks his own urine every morning

lyoto machida picture

According to an interview in 2009 with Tatame.com, Former Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida revealed he drinks his own magic elixer every morning.

He may be one of the only fighters who employs the strange practice of drinking his own urine. Watch the video below!

My father drinks his own urine for a long time and bring it to us. People think it’s a joke (laughs). I never said it in the United States because I don’t know how the fans will react (laughs). I drink my urine every morning like a natural medicine.

Video maker files counterclaim over UFC 158 weight allowance video

gsp picture

The person who made the video about the Quebecois authorities wouldn't be measuring decimal places during UFC 158 weigh-ins has filed a counter-claim with Youtube after the UFC tried to get the video offline.

The person who captured a UFC executive's "off the record" conversation about weigh-in rules with Nick Diaz, told MMAjunkie.com that he's filed a counter-claim to a DMCA request filed by the UFC. Nick McDermott wrote on Twitter:

Apparently UFC doesn't want the .9 allowance video to be seen and blocked it. I got a strike on my account because of it. I sent a counter claim and I'm waiting on them to respond.

McDermott said his video was reinstated after he complained to YouTube, which suspends accounts with three DMCA "strikes." But several days later, the clip was again taken down. He then filed a counter notification, which is a legal request to reinstate content in instances were it is "removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled, such fair use.

Any updates on this matter will appear on MMA Europe asap!

Tito Ortiz wants catchweight bout between Cyborg and Ronda Rousey

Tito Ortiz picture

Tito Ortiz (Cyborg's manager) is looking for a catchweight fight between Cris "Cyborg" Santos and UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey at December 31, 2013.

Tito Ortiz talked with Fight Hub TV and Tito was able to share his big plans for a fight between Cris "Cyborg" Santos and Ronda Rousey at catchweight on New Year's Eve:

Cris has shown in Strikeforce, why she's so dominant, why women are afraid of her. She has three fights with Invicta, she will be the world champion and she will walk away a world champion. Like I said, New Year's Eve, let's make a super fight. Forget the title. Champion vs. champion, who cares about the title? Fans want to see a fight and as a manager, I want to make sure that this fight happens and that's why we didn't sign with anybody else, with any competition against the UFC. I want to work with UFC and I want to give fighters the opportunity to fight on the biggest stage in the world as I fought for 15 years. I was excited for the reaction for women fighting and women's fighting is here to stay and it isn't going anywhere.

Cain Velasquez on Fallon Fox: She shouldn't fight other women

cain velasquez picture

The last few weeks, Fallon Fox started to appear in the news. She became a national story a few weeks ago after she said she was born a man and underwent gender surgery. Now, everybody has been talking about her, even UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has his own opinion about her.

A lot of people including UFC ringside announcer Joe Rogan and UFC bantamweight contender Miesha Tate have giving their opinion on Fallon Fox fighting women and they really opposed the idea. You can see Joe Rogan's opinion here and via the same link you can see that nobody else then Hulk Hogan is willing to fight Fallon Fox.

UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez talks about Fallon Fox:

I don't think she should be able to fight women. Having the same bone structure and everything else as a man, I think definitely does give her an advantage. Maybe have a separate [division], I guess. I don't know. But I don't think that's fair.

Fallon Fox already has her next fight scheduled against Allana Jones on May 24, 2013 at Championships Fighting Alliance in Florida. However, Jones' trainer Glen Bailey told MMA Junkie they're waiting to sign the contract. But Fox's manager isn't worried, if she declines the fight, CFA will find another opponent for Fox:

They're not going to have a problem finding an opponent. Somebody wants to be the one who beats Fallon Fox. And they'll see it as an opportunity to make more money. If Allana Jones doesn't fight, so what? Someone else will.

Chris Weidman doesn't want a new contract before his fight with Anderson Silva

Chris Weidman picture

Chris Weidman finally got his title shot against UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva at UFC 162 on July 6, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Some people believe Weidman can earn a lot of money with this fight, but Weidman isn't even asking for a new contract. Chris Weidman told MMAjunkie.com Radio, that they're just going to keep the current contract:

I'm definitely OK with making what I was making. I think I was making $24,000 (to show) and $24,000 (as a win bonus). I want to do that because then after I beat Anderson like I plan on doing, then obviously the contract will jump up more than if I was to rip up the contract now. I'm ready to put all my eggs in one basket and put my money where my mouth is.

Weidman is very confident going into this fight, dispite only having fought 9 professional fights. But 5 of those fight were in the UFC and Weidman won them all against opponents like Alessio Sakara, Jesse Bongfeldt, Tom Lawlor, Demian Maia and Mark Munoz. People doubt he's the right man to step next into the cage with Anderson Silva but Weidman says they've always chosen the toughest fights for him.

People say I don't have that many fights, which is true, but I've never had an easy fight. Even when I was in Ring of Combat, we always wanted to get the best guys because I wanted to get that experience. Guys like Uriah Hall, who's coming up on "The Ultimate Fighter", I fought that guy in my third fight.

I put myself in a lot of risky positions fighting good guys. I could have fought 50 guys at this point and smoked every one of them, and it would be against nobodies, which a lot of guys do. But I always chose the toughest competition because I knew that was going to make me the best I could be.

Weidman is currently on a 5 fight winning streak and since there are no other options for people to fight Silva, Weidman is the next logical choice. Hardcore fans also point out Weidman's history as an NCAA Division I All-American wrestler and Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championship qualifier as reason he could possibly cause troubles for Anderson Silva.

When people hear that, it's almost like I'm talking smack. But I'm just confident, and I really believe I can win the fight. I think it's a fight that people want to see.

This is a dream fight for me. Since I got into MMA, this is the guy wanted to fight and really prove I could beat. I finally have the opportunity to do that.

I got into this fight game for one reason: to be champion. I believe this is my time. The money is going to come when I'm champion. It's not going to come before. I'm not looking for a couple of extra grand. I'm looking to make Anderson Silva money.

I want that belt. That's it. I know everything else comes with that.

Chris Weidman faces Anderson Silva at UFC 162 on July 6, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Let's hope for him he can put his money where his mouth is, because otherwise he could be disappointed for a next contract deal.

Who do you guys got for the UFC 162 title fight? Silva OR Weidman? And do you guys think it's a good choice to change his contract after the Silva fight? Leave your comment in the comment section below.

Greg Jackson, the man who builds champions

Greg Jackson picture

Greg Jackson talks about what it take to run one of the best camps in MMA, and also about current and former team members.

Jackson's MMA, when you hear that name you associate it with one of the best teams in MMA. Not a lot of teams can come up with the same record than that of what Jackson's is currently. Steph Daniels recently spoke with Greg Jackson to get a clear view on his famed camp. Jackson spoke about what he feels the key to success is for Jackson's MMA, the danger that Chael Sonnen presents to Jon Jones, his feelings about Rashad Evans, Andrei Arlovski and much more.

Andrei Arlovski
It's been a journey of improvement. I think that Andrei has got some good years left in him, even with what happened in this last fight, which was a very close fight. I feel that he's improving and getting better. For me, this is like the first five or six fights of his career where we're learning and kind of growing. That's what it's about for me. As long as you're growing and learning and affecting your life in a positive way, and it's not taking anything from you, I don't see any reason to stop. I think he's just getting started.

In this last fight, the problem wasn't a chin issue, it was a technical issue. If you do certain things against a guy that hits as hard as the guy he was fighting, you're always going to get in trouble. It doesn't matter if you have a rock solid jaw ort not. Anybody can get caught like that and put down. It's a technical issue. It's about what you are doing to get in those situations. If you know you have to tie them up or get on your bicycle, if you do the right thing, insted of just standing in front of them and banging it out, you'll be OK. You're now beginning to see that with Andrei. Even when he does get into trouble, he can work his way out of that trouble and fight back.

Confusion about late bell after first round
I don't really know, but somebody was saying that Andrei took a lot of his damage after the allotted time, so I'm not even really sure. I need to sit back and watch that tape closely to see what happened. He definitely got clipped. Whether that was after the bell, if it really was right at the end there, and the bell was supposed to ring earlier, then we actually have a problem. If the damage that was done to his jaw was done after the legal time, and somebody made a mistake, then that's an actual issue that you might want to contest. I'm not sure if that's the case, so I have to go back and look at the film.

He had his jaw broken at some point in that round. There was blood everywhere and he wasn't breathing very well. He wasn't really able to take over in the second and the third, in my opinion, because of that injury. I think he won the third, no problem, and the second round was extremely close. Part of our gameplan was to come on strong in the last two rounds. If that indeed happened, and I'm not saying it did, we definitely need to take a look at it.

He lost a tooth and sustained a broken jaw in that first round and then went on for two more rounds like that, which just says what kind of warrior he is. You don't get any bigger heart than that. I don't wish that to happen to anybody, but I want people to know how very tough and special Andrei is. This guy is phenomenal, and even in defeat, he can show his greatness.

Leonard Garcia
He's really doing well. I was probably the most proud of his last fight. I actually think he won that fight, I really do. He got great takedowns, his kickboxing looked great, he was moving his head off angles ... he was doing everything I had asked him to do. It was just really nice to see him actually doing it. It was nice seeing him following a gameplan, to put it together, to secure the rounds, while making sure to try and knock the guy out., while also moving his head at the same time. He's progressing, and it's really exciting for me to see.

I'm really excited about this next fight for him. McKenzie has a great guillotine choke and he hits pretty hard, so it's going to be a great test for him. I don't know what the turning point was for him, but he's been way more focused, and way more disciplined. I'm not sure if it was something that clicked with him, but whatever it is, thank God for it.

Jon Jones vs Chael Sonnen
There are a lot of danger zones with Chael. Chael is tougher than a lot of people give him credit for. When we didn't want to fight him on three days notice or whatever, we'd never fight anybody on such short notice for somebody at Jon Jones level. People think he doesn't have any punching power, but then you see him drop Anderson Silva. Once he gets on top of you, it's trouble, and a lot of guys can't seem to get around that ground and pound style, so if you don't do things correctly with him, you get in trouble real quick.

We have to make sure we take him very seriously. He's a very tough opponent and he's very smart. He's going to try to negate the length and push the fight forward, and we have to be ready for that. We have to be ready for a 25 minute, all out war. He's going to try to wear Jon down with his cardio. We have to be ready for all of those eventualities to make sure that Jon is on point and ready and can execute his gameplan. It's not going to be an easy fight.

Carlos Condit
We did get taken down a lot in that fight, so I can see how we lost that, especially at the end of the first round, he kind of dropped him, but we did a ton of damage and aggressive stuff from underneath. If it's a stalemate, in other words, if I'm not really doing anything from the guard on the bottom, and you're not doing anything from the guard on the top, I can see giving the edge to the guy that got the takedown, because obviously it takes skill to achieve that.

However, if you get the takedown, but you're just kind of on the receiving end of a ton of damage, and you're basically just running away from jiu jitsu, I can see an argument being made that you would be losing that round. Even though you controlled how that fight got there, you weren't able to implement what you wanted to do. It's kind of a gray area.

I really thought Carlos did an extremely good job in getting up from those takedowns so fast. We just needed to move a little bit more, and Carlos would get just a little bit too close to Hendricks. He would get him in a little bit of trouble, and then would jump in too much, which got him in trouble with the takedowns.

Those are the little mistakes that I think might have cost us the fight, but I'm just so proud to train Carlos. He's just such an amazing guy and he's such an amazing fighter. I just feel incredibly privileged to help him out.

Cub Swanson
I hope to see him make a run for the title in another fight or two. He's certainly turned the corner, both technically and mentally to be ready to be a champion. Just watching him grow has been one of the most exciting experiences in my career. Watching him find his style and getting to know him and how to coach him, and getting to see him figure out how he likes to fight and how he is most effective, is just incredible. I'm so proud to see his growth and how he's coming at the world. I could gush about him all day long.

We got past his hand issues with a few things. One was the hand wraps. The Diaz brothers, Joel and Antonio, those guys do a great job wrapping his hands. I also think he's getting really sharp with his punches. He's not hitting the top of the head, he's not hitting elbows. He's getting really accurate. He's putting punches where they need to be, when they need to be there. I think that's actually helping to protect his hands a lot.

Rashad Evans' recent statement regarding fear of getting cut
I absolutely feel for him. I still see him, and we talk when we're at the same fights. I love that guy to death. I hope that he wins and that he has a job, because he's a great guy, and no matter what he said or what he's done, I'm not going to hold that against him. I don't hold grudges against friends that might have been a little too emotional at the time. I certainly hope that he has a job, because he is a great fighter and he deserves it. I wish him all the best.

Team Loyalty
It's always nice to see the camraderie shine through, especially in different circumstances. I've always said that's what makes our team really special. We have this kind of 'All for one and one for all' attitude. Even with the size of the team, I mean there's no other team that's as big as ours, at least with the UFC (has as many UFC fighters), I think ATT might be close, but we definitely have the most active, and even with that large size, and all the other organizations we represent, the core loyalty is always there and I'm very proud of it.

Successful management of a supercamp
Well, the secret is, I have great coaches that are much better than I am, starting with Mike Winkeljohn, going all the way down. I couldn't do it without them. It's really a team effort.

There are times when I have group sessions with all the guys, and I also do private lessons for the UFC guys a lot. I just try to give as much as I can. I do go through periods of burnout where I'm like, 'Oh my God, I've got to get some kind of rest', and some fighters get upset because they don't get the attention that they're used to when I'm going through those periods. A lot of the fighters are very understanding about it, though. Most of the time, I'm pretty good about giving everybody attention and taking care of people.

I would say that more than tight reins and strict discipline, the biggest key to our success is my individual approach with each fighter. Some people respond really well to me yelling at them, and some people respond better to me asking them nicely. I think it comes down to being very cognizant of an individual approach for every single fighter.

The understanding that each and every fighter comes at things a little bit differently, and getting to know them and approaching them in the right way is what makes it happen. I will approach a Cub Swanson differently than I would a Cowboy Cerrone or a Jon Jones. Everybody has their own unique style, and I just need to reflect that in my coaching style.

UFC fighter Christian Morecraft retires at age 26

Christian Morecraft picture

UFC fighter Christian Morecraft is retiring from MMA for now.

UFC Heavyweight fight Christian Morecraft is only 26 years old and he's eyeing towards retirement. He posted a message on his facebook page saying he's already had to work a full-time job while competing.

"There's plenty of ex-professional athletes out there who are lost, broke, and jobless when competing is over, so with that being said trying to find an easier way to make a living and most importantly be happy ... I'm saying goodbye to the fight business for right now. Nothing's set in stone because we all know that nothing in life is, but for now I've got some other matters to take care of. Thank you all for your support over the years. Thank you and god bless everyone"

Christian Morecraft came into the UFC with a 6-0 undefeated record but in the UFC he could only rack up 1 win against Sean McCorkle and he lost his other 3 fights by way of TKO/KO against Stefan Struve, Pat Barry and Matt Mitrione. He did not fight again after his KO loss against Pat Barry.

Zahabi: GSP might have only few years left in the UFC

GSP picture

In a recent interview with Sherdog, Zahabi explained why GSP’s training camp can’t be sustained for several more years of competition.

UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre is only 31 years old, but the reason why he can't continue for so many years is because of his devastating knee injury that had him sidelined for 1 year and a half. And when you get older, it's easier to get hurt and get the same injury, again and again. It could also explain why GSP injured his achilles heel in his last training camp, when he was training to fight Nick Diaz.

Zahabi explained why GSP’s preparation can’t be sustained for several more years of competition (via Sherdog).

His training camps are very difficult. I’ve done a lot of training camps. I could tell you the energy, time and money and hours spent doing a GSP training camp is ridiculous. It’s borderline insane. There’s a lot of effort going into preparing him for his fights. Can he live this lifestyle for another four or five years? I don’t know. Because it’s not a balanced lifestyle. It’s not a balanced lifestyle for him.

He’s giving up a lot of free time and leisure time and experiences he could be having in life to maintain his title, to maintain this excellence. It’s a difficult thing to do. He’s going to have to make that choice one fight at a time. Does he want to go through another training camp? Right now at this time, yes, for sure. There’s no doubt in my mind he wants to do another one, but down the line, two or three more training camps, is he still going to want to do it? That’s up to him. Does he still have the fire and the passion? We’ll see.

St-Pierre is expected to put his 170 lbs title on the line against number one contender Johny Hendricks. But we still have to wait some time before that happens because Georges St-Pierre would like to take some time off and that has, most likely, to do with the injuries he sustained in his camp before the Diaz fight.

Hulk Hogan willing to fight Fallon Fox

hulk hogan picture  fallon fox picture

Hulk Hogan has talked about the the recent controversy around Mixed Martial Arts fighter Fallon Fox, who came out as a transgender earlier this month.

While the UFC is not liking the idea of letting Fallon Fox fight in the Octagon anytime soon, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan says the MMA transgender fighter is welcome in his ring any day... even if the idea confuses him a little. (Watch the video below)

The wrestler, actor and TV personality told TMZ he'd be willing to fight Fox.

"I'll whip her...I mean, I'll whip him," Hogan said. "I'll whip her...I'm confused."

Fallon Fox’s next fight was set for April 20, 2013 at CFA 10. However her license is currently under investigation through Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation after she came out as transgender.

Among others who told their opinion about Fallon Fox is Joe Rogan, but he was not to keen on the idea of letting Fallon Fox fight women:

"She calls herself a woman but... I tend to disagree. And, uh, she, um... she used to be a man but now she has had, she's a transgender which is (the) official term that means you've gone through it, right? And she wants to be able to fight women in MMA. I say no fucking way. I say if you had a dick at one point in time, you also have all the bone structure that comes with having a dick. You have bigger hands, you have bigger shoulder joints. You're a fucking man. That's a man, OK? You can't have... that's... I don't care if you don't have a dick any more...

Hayabusa will not market GSP's UFC 158 gi

georges st-pierre picture

Hayabusa has released a statement announcing that they will not be marketing the gi that UFC Welterweight champion GSP wore during UFC 158.

The gi that UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre wore during UFC 158 appeared to be offensive because of the Rising Sun imagery featured on the gi which is associated with Japan's World War II era regime. After Chan Sung Jung wrote a public letter to Georges St-Pierre, Hayabusa has released their own statement on Facebook:

Since Georges St-Pierre wore our walkout gi at UFC 158 we have received attention surrounding the negative connotation of the rising sun graphic used. The last thing we want is to offend or alienate anyone with the choice of design on our products.

We at Hayabusa have the utmost respect for culture and history and appreciate all of our customers worldwide. As such, we accept full responsibility for this design and are taking all complaints and comments very seriously.

The gi worn by GSP will not be brought to market. In addition, we will be very conscious of this specific design element when developing future communication materials and products.

Please accept our sincerest apology for any offence this has caused. If you have any questions or comments regarding this matter, please feel free to discuss it with us at customerservice@hayabusafightwear.com. One of our representatives will be happy to assist you.

Sincerely,

Craig Clement

UFC 158 Late rule change for GSP vs Diaz

Apparently they don't count the decimal in Canada, both Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz were allowed 0.9 allowance for the UFC 158 title fight.

When it comes down to the "golden boy" of the UFC, it seems like they are allowed to change the rules at the last minute before the weigh-ins. According to the MMA rules, the fighters are allowed to weigh 1 pound over the limit, if it's a non-title fight. But when it's a title fight both fighters need to come in at the weight limit. So both Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz were allowed to weigh 170lbs maximum.

So was this a rule changed for Georges St-Pierre because he was struggling making weight because he was sick? The conversation about the weight limit change was "off the record" and you can watch the video about this above.

Now we don't know what Georges St-Pierre's actual weight was, it could've been 170,2 lbs or 170,9 lbs. We don't know, because the weight was being announced as 170 lbs.

The conversation between Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs and Assistent Counsil for the UFC Michael Mersch and the Diaz camp:

Mersh: "They're going to allow you and Georges to have an extra hour, just in case somebody doesn't make it. But the good news is, they don't count the decimal. If you're 170.2 it's 170. If it's 170.9. it's 170."

Team Diaz: "Why didn't we know that before?"

Mersh: "Should be fine, hopefully, other than that. Just so you guys are in the loop, if there's ..."

Team Diaz: "Why didn't you tell us that yesterday?"

Mersh: "Well, no, it's just something to keep in mind. That's kind of an off the record type of thing. But keep that in mind. As long as he's under 171, we should be good. But, there is a time period afterwards, for you and Georges only. All the other fighters have to make it the first time. Just letting you guys be in the loop, okay? Good luck!"

Team Diaz: "That's a loophole... A Canadian loophole."

Apparently they didn't tell Carlos Condit the same thing when he fought GSP for the title at UFC 154.

Should Dominick Cruz be stripped from his title?

dominick cruz picture

Dominick Cruz has been on the sidelines for almost 17 months now, and recently it was revealed that Cruz underwent another ACL surgery. For now, his exact return date is still unkown.

It could be time to for the UFC to strip Dominick Cruz from his UFC Bantamweight Championship belt and name Renan Barao the UFC Bantamweight Champion. Renan Barao won the Interim UFC Bantamweight Championship on July 21, 2012 at UFC 149 against Urijah Faber by Unanimous Decision. And while Cruz was sidelined with his injury, Barao already defended the Interim Belt once against Michael McDonald at UFC on Fuel TV: Barao vs. McDonald. Barao is expected to make his second title defense against Eddie Wineland on June 15, 2013 at UFC 161.

So what happens if Cruz, who's already undergone two ACL injuries, is further delayed? The UFC created an interim title and Cruz still wasn't ready to take on the winner, he might be forced to relinquish his belt. But UFC president Dana White says that's not the case at all:

"If he starts training again and gets another injury that's going to take him out for a year – and I hate to even say this about the kid since he's a really good kid – but he should seriously probably look at retiring," White said. "But I'm not taking something like [the title] from somebody.

"The way that it works in the fight business is you beat the man who beat the man. Obviously, though, if he had to retire, then [the interim titleholder] would automatically become the champion."

Dominick Cruz has been a model champion, but the UFC stripped Frank Mir from his title 14 months after his motorcycle accident, so why make an exception?

What do you guys think about this matter? Should Dominick Cruz be stripped from his title or not?

Sarah McMann says Ronda Rousey is not unstoppable

Sarah McMann picture

Sarah McMann doesn't think Ronda Rousey is unstoppable because she doesn't view any fighter as unstoppable.

UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey isn't unstoppable, according to Sara McMann.

McMann was a national champion in high school and earned a silver medal in the 2004 Olympic Games and says Ronda -- who took bronze in Judo back in 2008 -- has weaknesses just like any other athlete, despite blitzing through the competition with relative ease.

"I don't view Ronda Rousey as unstoppable because I don't view any fighter as unstoppable, or any athlete in general. Everybody has strengths. Coming with strengths, the natural thing is you will have weaknesses in certain areas, you know, myself included. I just don't look at anyone in that capacity. Every great guy fighter that I follow, they have losses on their records. You're not just, ‘Oh I started MMA, so I'm suddenly perfect.' We wouldn't want to watch that anyways. We want the highs and lows. We want the wins and the losses. That's what keeps the fans interested, so I don't view it like that, but, I've been around sports a long time."

Thanks to her unbeaten record (6-0), Sara earned herself a contract with the Zuffa-owned promotion and is set to make her Octagon debut against Sheila Gaff at UFC 159 on April 27, 2013.
