UFC on Fuel TV 9 Predictions

Let's take a look on the UFC on Fuel TV 9 predictions by MMA Europe.

Gegard Mousasi vs. Ilir Latifi

While wrestlers aren't exactly good match-up for Mousasi, I think he will overcome early pressure by Latifi. Mousasi's takedown defense has centainly improved since the Jardine fight and he should be able to hold Latifi off. Because of the pressure Latifi has to put on, he will probably gas early as he had to do a very difficult weigh cut on short notice aswell. I won't be surprised by an upset here but I'm still picking Gegard for the win.
Gegard Mousasi by TKO/KO

Ross Pearson vs. Ryan Couture

I really like the way Ross Pearson fight and he certainly is entertaining. Since Pearson is the more experienced fighter of the 2 I also expect him to come out on top. Pearson look a lot better now that he moved up in weight class, he should be able to put pressure on Couture and make this a striking match. It's Couture debut in the UFC and there's a lot of pressure on him. I don't see any way how he gets past Pearson.
Ross Pearson by Unanimous Decision

Matt Mitrione vs. Phil De Fries

I expect Matt Mitrione to finish this fight quite early, De Fries won't be able to handle Mitrione's striking and he will try hard for the takedown, but I don't think he will be able to get it. I see Mitrione landing a big shot and finish off De Fries fast.
Matt Mitrione by TKO/KO

Brad Pickett vs. Mike Easton

I haven't seen much of both fighters but I think Pickett is the better powerfull striker of the two.
Brad Pickett by TKO/KO

Diego Brandao vs. Pablo Garza

This could probably end up as FOTN for sure, I always like Brandao and his style and with Garza in front of him it could be a great fight. Brandao improved a lot of holes in his game and I think he will pick Garza apart on the feet.
Diego Brandao by Unanimous Decision

UFC 158 Predictions by MMA Europe

gsp vs diaz picture

Below are my predictions for UFC 158: Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz at The Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz

A lot of people think that Nick Diaz will be GSP's biggest challenge to date, but I think after this Saturday we will see endless takedowns from GSP and Diaz getting frustrated because he wants to rid MMA of boring controlling wrestling. GSP will take Diaz down whenever he wants to and pass to half guard and try to avoid Diaz's guard. The fight is most likely going to distance unless Diaz is able to lure GSP into his game, which is to stand and trade with him. But I think GSP is too smart for that and will play his own game.

Prediction: Georges St-Pierre def. Nick Diaz by Unanimous Decision

Carlos Condit vs. Johny Hendricks

First of all, I feel bad for Johny Hendricks. While I still think Hendricks can knock anybody out, I just think Condit is a bad match-up for him. Condit is very good at gameplanning and he isn't willing to play anybody's game as we all saw in the Diaz fight. Carlos Condit is hard to hit and he is very good on the feet and even when he gets taken down, his guard is excellent and so are his sweeps. On the other hand we have "Big Rig", as we've already seen in some of his fights, he can knock anyone out cold! (Remember Jon Fitch, Martin Kampmann). I hope for Johny Hendricks that he will come out on top, because it's for the number 1 contender spot but I think Condit will win this one.

Prediction: Carlos Condit def. Johny Hendricks by Unanimous Decision

Jake Ellenberger vs. Nate Marquardt

I'm actually not quite sold on Marquardt coming to the UFC just yet. I didn't look so good in the Tyron Woodley fight even though he won and he also didn't look good against Tarec Saffeidine where he lost. Marquardt is very large for the devision and he is a good striker but the power that Ellenberger presents is just crazy. And on top of that, Ellenberger has good offensive wrestling, the only problem could be his gas tank. But still I think Ellenberger will have the advantage and knocks Marquardt out.

Prediction: Jake Ellenberger def. Nate Marquardt by TKO/KO

UFC 157 Prediction

Hi,

I'm going to talk about UFC 157 and make some predictions about what I think what's going to happen and who's going to win. Tonight at the Honda Center UFC 157 will take place and everyone in there will be witness of the first ever women's UFC fight. Many people feel Lyoto Machida vs. Dan Henderson should be the main event, but tonight we'll see how it all plays out. I'm very exited to start on my predictions as this a stacked UFC events full of exiting fights.

Josh Koscheck vs. Robbie Lawler
Nice to see Robbie Lawler back in the UFC, but I don't know what to expect from him.
I know he's got huge knock-out power and can knock a lot of people out. But I think Koscheck will be the better man and tries to grapple Lawler and take him to the ground and grind him out.
So I hope Koscheck does not try to do anything stupid like brawling with Lawler because then he could get knocked out cold! But that being said, I expect Koscheck to take him to the ground and beat him up there!
Josh Koscheck by Decision!

Court McGee vs. Josh Neer
Because McGee lost his last 2 fights, I think dropping down to welterweight is a good choice for him. He can use his size now because he's a natural middleweight. His opponent Josh Neer, also coming of 2 losses, is a good fight for McGee. If McGee can stay away from Neer's clinch and take him to the ground, everything will be fine and he will grind out a decision win against Neer. Of course I don't know if McGee's is in shape, dropping down a weight class, but I think that's something we'll have to see this evening!
Court McGee by Decision!

Urijah Faber vs. Ivan Menjivar
I expect Faber to win this pretty comfortably. I know these 2 have already met, but I really think Faber is worthy of fighting for the belt.
He keeps on losing to the champions but beats up anybody else.
I think it will be hard to put away Menjivar so I expect for this to be a decision but this fight could be fight of the night for sure!
Urijah Faber by Decision!

Lyoto Machida vs. Dan Henderson
Well let's face the truth, I think Hendo is to old and too slow for Machida. Machida is too unpredictable and too fast for Hendo to keep up. The only way I see Hendo winning this fight is landing a huge H-Bomb. As Hendo is a wrestler, I have not seen a lot of wrestlers get close to Machida and take him to the ground.
The only man capable of doing that is Jones. I know Hendo hasn't been finished by TKO/KO but I think this will be a good time to say he could be stopped by the always unpredictable Machida.
Lyoto Machida by TKO/KO!

Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Liz Carmouche
Well I think this will be the easiest prediction on the whole card. This fight will go pretty much the same way as any other fights Rousey has been in.
I really think Carmouche is outmatched in this fight and we will see that this evening.
She will take Carmouche to ground by some vicious judo throw and finish her of by armbar.
Ronda Rousey by Armbar!
