Gonzaga's camp is going to appeal loss against Travis Browne due to illegal elbows

Gonzaga's camp is going to appeal his loss against Travis Browne at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale due to illegal elbows.

Gabriel Gonzaga's manager is going to file an appeal with the Nevada State Athletic Commission after his controversial loss to Travis Browne at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale that took place on April 13, 2013 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gonzage suffered a KO loss to Travis Browne when he tried to shoot for a takedown. Travis Browne gave some serious elbows to Gonzaga's head which knocked him out in the first round.

There's a lot of controversy about which elbows were legal and which landed to the back of the head. It seemed to me like 3 elbows were legal and when Gonzage was already out, he gave 3 more elbows that appeared to be illegal. Marco Alvan, Gonzaga's manager, wrote a statement on Facebook in English and Portuguese:

Guys Gabriel Gonzaga is ok, thanks for the messages. I need to review it to count how many illegal elbows but Its a fact that it was illegal. I contacted Keith Kizer head of Nevada Athletic Comission and he told me to file a complaint and he would review it. I true believe it was illegal. I never complaint about a losses who knows me know that I handle it good but illegal we can not accept."

I very hope the commission look it carefully and make a correct decision about it. We respect Travis and his camp but it was a sad night. We hope this result can be fixed and get a new fight between them. I don't know who post it but thanks to clarify for all of us!

More on this when we hear more!

Georges St-Pierre says he weighed 170.4 lbs at UFC 158

Ultimate Fighting Championship Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre told La Presse that he believes he weighed in at 170.4 lbs.

So actually that means Georges St-Pierre was officially 0.4 lbs over the normal Championship limit of 170 lbs. St-Pierre was quiet for quite a long time but now he spoke to press and told them that he believed his weight was 170.4 lbs.
Here a rough translation of the report (via Bloody Elbow):

They came to us just before the weigh-ins and even I was surprised. They told us they were going to be rounding (down to the nearest pound). I was as surprised as Nick Diaz," St. Pierre said Thursday in an interview with The Associated Press.

GSP said he was not sure of his exact weight, but he believes that it amounted to 170.4 pounds. The Quebec Board then rounded his weight down to 170 pounds, the limit for the March 16 bout.

Wow, just as people were starting to forget the weigh-in controversy, St-Pierre ignites the fire!
