Dispite the news that broke out, that Alexander Gustafsson had suffered an injury during training, Dana White says the UFC plan to continue the event as scheduled.

Earlier it was reported that Alexander Gustafsson suffered a cut during training and was unable to be cleared for this friday's medical check-up. While his camp confirmed the injury and three doctors from the SMMAF said that the cut was bad enough to need 3 week's healing time before Gustafsson would be ready to fight, Dana White says the bout will continue:

Let's hope the fight is still on as everybody wants to see this fight.

Alexander Gustafsson cut in training, fight may be cancelled

alexander gustafsson picture

Swedish media reported that Alexander Gustafsson suffered a cut in training and he will be unable to compete against Gegard Mousasi on April 6, 2013.

Swedish media outlet SVT today reported that Gustafsson suffered a significant cut in training and that he will be unable to compete against Gegard Mousasi on April 6, 2013 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

No official confirmation has come from the UFC or Gustafsson himself for now. Let’s hope that Gustafsson’s cut can quickly heal and that he will not be forced from the card. If he is indeed injured that could mess up the upcoming card. More news about Gustafsson will be available on MMA Europe.

UPDATE!
MMANytt confirmed the injury with Gus's camp:

According to a trusted source of MMANytt the news of Gustafsson's injury is true. Now it comes down to how deep the cut over the eye is and whether SMMAF are going to license him to fight.

MMANytt recently confirmed this with the Swedish MMA Association who explain that it will take a number of weeks before the injury heals up, and that Gustafsson with 99% certainty won't be medically approved in the medical examination which is planned to go down on Friday.

SMMAF spokeperson Gorge Sallfeldt to MMANytt:

This SMMAF doctor has seen the injury in person, while another two doctors say the same thing after having examined pictures of the injury. Our doctors have looked at this injury, and it's very hard to imagine it will be medically approved by Friday.

Machida drinks his own urine every morning

lyoto machida picture

According to an interview in 2009 with Tatame.com, Former Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida revealed he drinks his own magic elixer every morning.

He may be one of the only fighters who employs the strange practice of drinking his own urine. Watch the video below!

My father drinks his own urine for a long time and bring it to us. People think it’s a joke (laughs). I never said it in the United States because I don’t know how the fans will react (laughs). I drink my urine every morning like a natural medicine.

Video maker files counterclaim over UFC 158 weight allowance video

gsp picture

The person who made the video about the Quebecois authorities wouldn't be measuring decimal places during UFC 158 weigh-ins has filed a counter-claim with Youtube after the UFC tried to get the video offline.

The person who captured a UFC executive's "off the record" conversation about weigh-in rules with Nick Diaz, told MMAjunkie.com that he's filed a counter-claim to a DMCA request filed by the UFC. Nick McDermott wrote on Twitter:

Apparently UFC doesn't want the .9 allowance video to be seen and blocked it. I got a strike on my account because of it. I sent a counter claim and I'm waiting on them to respond.

McDermott said his video was reinstated after he complained to YouTube, which suspends accounts with three DMCA "strikes." But several days later, the clip was again taken down. He then filed a counter notification, which is a legal request to reinstate content in instances were it is "removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled, such fair use.

Any updates on this matter will appear on MMA Europe asap!
